Nutrition expert Dr. Heba Essam talked about the suitable diet for the Eid Al Adha feast, saying that small portions of meat are recommended rather than big ones in addition to light breakfast consisting of cheese, brown toast and beans. Avoid sweets and cookies as they decrease immunity, she reiterated. Fruits and vegetables are preferable, the expert reassured.
Hosted by (Breakfast Show), she advised people to eat healthy light meat either boiled, grilled or oven-cooked and added to it a large plate of salad to reduce the meat’s harmful effect. Don’t overeat carbs such as Fatta and rice, Essam recommended, urging to lessen the amount of carbohydrates and increase the amount of vegetables and water to decrease toxins. Concentrate on fruits and drink green tea after the meal as well as cinnamon, ginger and water with lemon, she elaborated.
She explained that since red meat makes some toxins in the body, green vegetables and onion are so helpful. A person may eat a 200-250 grams piece of meat per day, a red piece with no fatty content, she highlighted.
She pleaded with people to avoid soda drinks which decrease calcium in the body and make a lot of gastric colic. She rather recommended eating fruit salads, two to three low-calorie fruits per day.
Dr. Essam said that our bodies need two litres of water per day together with other fluids like antitoxins and fresh healthy juices as well as vitamin C.
Moreover, she has set a nutritional plan for those who are on a diet to eat grilled meat, raw vegetables in salads, steamed vegetables and yoghurt.
For the teens who are having their exams after the feast, Dr. Essam preferred some healthy balanced diet for them composed of proteins, vegetables , fruits and nuts which are essential for brain function, for memory and for concentration as it is rich in omega3, as well as tuna and fish plus one or two spoonfuls of honey.
(Breakfast Show) is aired daily. This episode is presented by Amal Mokhtar.
