The Deputy Ambassador of Spain in Cairo, Al Phonso Diaz, said that the timing of the Egyptian Economic Conference 2022 is significant and necessary for the economic community to get acquainted with the recent developments and the upcoming plans, believing that there are good prospects for the international investors to come to Egypt and to help in its economic development.

In an interview with Nile TV International on the sidelines of the conference, Diaz described the Spanish-Egyptian relations as “very good indeed”, hinting that more efforts should be done to make it much better. He also declared a forthcoming event of 25 Spanish companies ready to invest for the first time in Egypt, believing that such a gathering will create deeper and mutually beneficial economic and trade cooperation.

The Spanish Deputy Ambassador hailed the Egyptian procedures and work done in preparation for the 27th annual UN meeting on climate change (COP27) taking place in Sharm el-Sheikh from 6 to 18 November, assuring that from the logistics point of view, it will be a success. He also hoped that the leaders of the world could achieve an agreement enough to combat changes in the climate.

Finally, he confirmed that the Spanish government will attend the conference and will be happy to share this opportunity with other leaders of the world to make Spanish and European Union contributions to such an important event.

Under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah e-Sisi, the Egyptian Economic Conference 2022, was held in the New Administrative Capital in Cairo for a three-day event to draw a roadmap for the future of the Egyptian economy.
