Badr discusses plans to stimulate sustainable management of water

Dr. Abdel Fattah Badr, Professor of Environmental Studies, Helwan University, said that regional and international entities should collaborate to conserve water resources.

Dr. Badr mentioned, during an interview with the daily program (Breakfast Show), that the Cairo Water Week is an important platform to exchange views on the best actions on climate change and mainly on water resources as the main issue related to it.

He added that this conference is related to the coming COP27, and its theme is “Water at the Heart of Climate Action.”

He noted that this is the fifth edition of the Water Week, with over 1,000 participants from 70 countries and 66 international organizations, representatives of UN agencies and regional organisations, financial institutions and donors, and water experts from public and private institutions.

Further, he pointed out that the conference includes many activities, such as discussing competitive graduation projects and farmer's strategies that succeeded in conserving water.

Finally, he stressed the necessity of rationalizing the use of water, recycling it, using smart technologies in irrigation, improving drainage systems and conserving rainwater.
