International Tourism and Marketing Expert Dr. Alaa Khalifa said that Egypt’s new campaign that targets the Arab world is extremely successful. “We are pushing throughout a time which we call a new norm post coronavirus as the vaccine has been administered in many countries around the world”, he mentioned, stressing that we are able to deliver a new message to those traditional markets.

In a phone call with (Cairo Local Time), Khalifa said this year is a special one as most favorite European destinations for the Arab travelers are not available because of the fear of the different variants of Covid-19. Egypt delivered a new message targeting those Arab travelers to come and visit the north coast which received the largest number of Arab travelers ever mostly from the United Arab Emirates, he added.

Under the slogan "Summer in Egypt is a Different Story", Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities launched the second part of the promotional campaign for Egypt in the Arab market on the most important electronic platforms, social networking sites and major search and reservation platforms.

It is a chance to show travelers how beautiful the north coast is versus many of the European destinations, the tourism expert said, believing that Egypt is a good track and it is an opportunity to get them used to such destination.

Dr. Khalifa expected that the New Alamein City is going to be a very important hub especially for tourism in the north coast together with all the facilities built over there whether it is hotels or tourism resorts. The Alamein City, he stressed, will have a brilliant and bright future. It is going to be similar to Dubai Marina, he said, believing that it is going to be also promoting and supporting yacht tourism which has been a focus of interest for the Egyptian government for the last period.

As for the returning of the Russian tourists to Egypt, he conveyed that such a decision needs a permission from both Russian medical authority and the aviation authority to approve Egypt as a destination after the Russian president decree.

Egypt has been always on the bucket list, the marketing expert pointed, stressing that now we want Egypt to be on the to-do list. Egypt will be the right destination for travelers, he believed especially nowadays as people do not like long-haul flights and our country is in the epicenter of the world. It is an opportunity of regaining this market share one more time, he assumed.

The Grand Egyptian Museum as an event has to be marketed in a special way, the tourism expert said, referring to the fact that the world is waiting for the museum to be opened. Egypt is giving positive signals to the world, he said, by showing the preparations. He believed that in the mid-2022, we will be able open the museum.
