Mr.Ihab Kamel, Historian and Egyptologist said that the ancient Egyptians were keen to show their love via many methods and ways.
Over the phone with “Breakfast Show”, he shed light on how the Egyptians were the first people to use flowers as a symbol of love and passions.
In that respect, he said that the ancient Egyptians had considered flowers to be a very important offering of deities that shows the great value of flowers to them.
Highlighting the importance of flowers to the ancient Egyptians, Mr Kamel added that according to the temples and tombs walls, we see in different scenes presenting lotus flowers to gods and goddesses as a valuable offering and a symbol of appreciation.
Moreover, he asserted that the ancient Egyptians used flowers on many occasions as a funerary offering.
Mr Kamel mentioned another way that the pharaohs expressed their love that was using poems.He pointed out that Ramses the second showed his love to his beloved Nefertari by dedicating her a temple in Abu Simbel on which walls are full of love poems which are describing his love and in which he said that the sun rises especially for his beloved Nefertari.
Finally, he said that Isis and Osiris methodology is one of the biggest love stories ever.
