Ambassador Mohamed Al-Shazly, Former Assistant Foreign Minister, said that Arab unity is the remedy to end the spilling of blood around the Arab world.
Amb. Shazly mentioned, during a phone conversation with (Arab Affairs) program marking the end of 2020, that 2020 was a turbulent year full of disorder, conflicts and bloodshed in the Arab world and the Middle East.
He added that most of the Arab countries suffered from fragmentation and disunity which weakened them and paved the way towards foreign intervention.
He pointed out that the situation in Libya, Syria, Yemen, Iraq and Lebanon was chaotic and the power vacuum led to interference of foreign countries such as Turkey and Iran in the Arab affairs.
Al Shazly finally stressed that the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic also increased the challenges that faced the Arab world in 2020, adding that a global cooperation is needed to curb the transmission of the virus.
