Analyst asserts Sisi's urgent call for peace, green energy

Political analyst and journalist Amr Abdel Rahman said that President Abdel Fattah e-Sisi has declared important points in his inaugural speech at COP27. He stressed the importance of the gathering of the world leaders to tackle climate issues and achieve the main goals of the international conference in saving human lives, saving our planet Earth, lifting the dangers and facing the hazards and challenges of climate change.

Over the phone to Nile TV International, he added that we need to change the ways of our lives in order to reduce the temperature caused by the emissions. All countries have to collaborate to face threats caused by the western civilization which has damaged the climate and harmed life on earth, he affirmed. Industry and carbon emissions have caused pollution which led to climate change with its harmful side effects, he stated, reassuring that thus we need to change the source of power and use green energy.

He evaluated the president’s call to stop the Russian-Ukrainian war. It was the word of a leader, the analyst said, as many nations are suffering not only in Europe but in the whole world as well due to this war. Egypt can lead the initiative to stop it to reach an end before winter hits Europe, he added.

Abdel Rahman asserted that President Sisi called for working hard to pave the way for a clean environment for the coming generations and their future. Illustrating, he mentioned that COP 27 is held under the title “Together for Implementation”, hence we can change the way we are living to the better, we can reduce the negative effects and we can change our power sources into free energy sources.

He believes this conference boosts Egypt worldwide. Sharm el Sheikh is introducing itself as an international city that receives international summits and events; the city adopts green measures, green environment projects, and a green way of life. We are setting an example for our continent, he concluded, stressing the fact that Egypt is a symbol of hope and civilization as it is now the white spot in a world full of conflicts.

This episode is presented by Amal Mokhtar. It comes amid Nile TV International coverage of COP27 activities.
