Dr. Yasser Abdel Hady, Professor of Astronomical and Geophysical Research , said that all countries and every continent should prepare new strategic policies to face the negative impacts of climate change.
Dr. Abdel Hady mentioned, during a phone conversation with the daily program (Breakfast Show), that Africa is the worst continent hit by climate change, despite its low contribution to greenhouse gas emission and its richness of natural resources.
He pointed out that Africa has long shores which face erosion due to climate change, the African agriculture sector also faces deterioration due to this problem.
He stressed the importance of using renewable resources of energy instead of using fossil fuel that increases pollution.
Further, Hady noted that Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukri's participation in Africa Climate Week in Gabon highlights Egypt's keenness to find solutions to the problem.
He added that the Gabon meetings are preparations for the coming COP27 that will be held in Sharm El Sheikh next November.
He finally hailed the new plans taken by Gabon to limit the risks of climate change through creating natural parks and marine parks.
