Expert:Momentous touristic events explore Egypt's glory

Dr. Ahmed Badr, Tourist Expert, said that there are many events celebrated this year in Egypt such as the 100th anniversary of the exceptional discovery of King Tutankhamen’s tomb, the 200th anniversary of the deciphering of the Rosetta Stone that enabled the world to understand ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs, and the inauguration of Grand Egyptian Museum.

In a phone call with (Cairo Local Time), Badr mentioned that it is always great to have major tourist events which will be full of wonders for people who are interested in Egyptology, pointing out that we are the only country that has science by its name. He also added that Egyptian history is studied all over the world in schools and colleges, believing that visiting Egypt is a dream for everyone on earth.

He noted that one of the things connecting people is “history” and as we have a rich history, people are really anxious to come and hear by themselves how amazing monuments like the Great Pyramids are built and how the ancient Egyptians challenged the laws of physic and mathematics and finish the monumental tombs without any of our technological equipment.

As for the importance of celebrating the 100th anniversary of King Tutankhamun’s tomb discovery, the tourist expert said that it is the only tomb that is totally disclosed without any missing pieces, adding that his full collection will be exhibited in the Grand Egyptian Museum.

Finally, he emphasized the importance of such celebrations, believing that it is an occasion to remind the world of such amazing discoveries hoping for more explorations as we still did not discover all our wonders.
