Professor of International Negotiations Hassan Wagih stressed the historical bonds between Egypt and Saudi Arabia
Professor of International Negotiations Hassan Wagih stressed the historical bonds between Egypt and Saudi Arabia and hailed strategic cooperation between them on many issues of common concern on the Arab arena. He reassured the Saudi backing for the Red Sea security and Egypt’s water rights.
Shedding light on the visit recently paid by Saudi Crown Prince Mohamad bin Salman to Egypt, he said over the phone on (The Breakfast Show) that it is timely significant especially on the economic level, highlighting that during the visit, the two countries signed 14agreements worth about US $7.7 bln, aiming to enhance Saudi investment in the Egyptian market to $30 bln.
As for the security file, Egypt believes that economy and security should be on one track, so it pledged to maintain national security and stressed its firm position in the face of any threats destabilizing peace and stability in the Gulf area and that comes in collaboration with Saudi Arabia, Wagih added.
The Crown Prince’s visit to Egypt is the first leg of his trip which includes Jordan and Turkey next and it comes within a framework of Saudi keenness on strengthening strategic ties with those countries. The visit also comes ahead of US President Joe Biden’s visit to Saudi Arabia next month for participation in the summit which the kingdom will host, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), with the participation of Egypt, Iraq and Jordan.
The Breakfast Show is aired daily on Nile TV International and this episode is conducted by Mohamad Abdel Rahim Shalaby.
