Analyst highlights diversity in preparations for Ramadan

Dr. Raouf Gaafar, Political Analyst, said that the month of Ramadan is the holiest month for Muslims, during the month Muslims fast in order to learn patience and compassion towards the poor.

Dr.  Gaafar mentioned, during a phone conversation with (Arab Affairs) program, that Arabs consume more products during the month of Ramadan, thus Arab governments try their best to prevent shortage of food during the holy month.

He added that this Ramadan comes during the Russian–Ukranian conflict which affected the global economy and caused a hike in prices and food crises in many countries .  

He pointed out that Arab countries differ in their preparations for Ramadan according to their economic and  political stability, for example, in Egypt, the government secured all goods and food products needed during the month.

He declared that even in countries that suffer from political and economic crises, such as Yemen, the conflicting parties agreed on a truce during the month of Ramadan .

He finally stressed that the month of Ramadan is a time for joy, peace, family reunions, prayers and charities.
