Tourism expert Dalia Ibrahim said that Egypt is famous for its beautiful palaces that belong to different ages, Pharaonic, Greco-Roman, Coptic, Islamic and Medieval.
Ibrahim mentioned, during an interview with (Nile Cruise) program, that in Ancient times Memphis and Thebes (Luxor) were full of palaces, even the Arabic name for Luxor means (Palace) because it was full of palaces.
She added that Alexandria was the Capital of Egypt during the reign of the Greeks and the Romans, there were many palaces there but unfortunately most of them were destroyed by earthquakes or submerged in the sea and teams are trying to detect their place .
She added that Cairo since its construction was home to many palaces, two of them were in Al Moez street, Nobel laureate Naguib Mahfouz named his story (Between the Two Palaces) after them.
She pointed that Mohamed Ali and his family, mainly Khedive Ismail, have built many palaces, among them the Palace inside Saladin Citadel, Abdeen Palace and Al Quba Palace.
She declared that palaces such as Mahmoud Khalil Palace, and Aisha Fahmy Palace, were renovated and became art centers where many events are performed, attracting more visitors and tourists .
