Engineer Shady El Safty declared that he was honored to receive the Quality Leaders Award which he won from the USA as it is a prestigious international award offered by the US, the most accredited society for quality globally. He became the first Egyptian, African and Arab to win it.
Over the phone to (Cairo Local Time), he added that this award will promote Egypt as a source of talented professionals on the international level which is very important for the industrial sector.
ElSafty stated that he had also obtained five international awards in the field of quality management and manufacturing. He was honored all over the world and has been recognized in the US, China, UAE and Philippines for his contribution in that field.
He admitted that he is proud of launching an initiative to preserve the safety of workers and ensure business continuity during the corona virus pandemic. He had begun this initiative in May 2020 with the support of Egyptian experts working in the industrial sector in various countries. The main objective is to support the Egyptian economy during the pandemic, he highlighted.
He explained that the initiative has two objectives: to ensure safety of the workforce in the industrial sector as it is the backbone of this sector and to ensure business continuity during this pandemic. His team shared precautionary actions and best practices with international corporations.
Shedding more light on the initiative, he indicated that it consists of four main pillars which are training, awareness technology, innovation management and introducing lean concepts in health care. It was a very successful initiative helping them to transfer the knowledge to companies, he commented.
El Safty pointed out that the means of upgrading quality management and manufacturing in the country through the upcoming period is quality which helps to ensure the growth and support of export activity. There is a big challenge now which is the speed to cope with the fourth industrial revolution. Illustrating, he noticed how to go fast to adapt this technology, digital transformation, automation, big data, data analytics, 3D printing, image processing, and quality control, that are the most important pillars in this revolution.
He acknowledged his belief that training is the optimal solution to this challenge. He called for efforts to train our human resources on the new tools and processes, and adopt knowledge from other countries to be ready for this vital transformation.
