Ambassador Kairat Sarybay hailed its work profile in such a way to promote security, peace and stability
On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia in 2022, Executive Director of the Secretariat of CICA Ambassador Kairat Sarybay hailed its work profile in such a way to promote security, peace and stability.
In that respect, he attributed it to an initiative proposed by the first president of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev during the 47th round of the UN General Assembly in 1992 to take the official phase in 1993.
During an interview on (Exclusive), he lauded Egypt for its pivotal cooperation in the region and said that as a member state in the conference Egypt is a cradle of civilizations and a place of multilateral diplomacy. He spoke about the 5 main dimensions agreed upon for interaction; military, political, ecological, human and economical dimensions.
“CICA is a huge geography from the Pacific to the Mediterranean”, he highlighted, adding that it aims at building trust and confidence among the 27 members of diverse cultures through dialogues for reaching sustainable development. The Arab world is represented in CICA by 7 member states with its rich heritage, he elaborated, to provide the Arab experience to the other foreign members. The Arab countries; Egypt, Bahrain, Iran, Qatar, Jordan, Palestine and United Arab Emirates are an asset of CICA, he declared.
Regarding the Kazakh chairmanship of the forum since 2020, he stated that Kazakhstan pledged to tap into the previous 30 years of experience and go ahead to make CICA a full-fledged international organization on regional security and to be more effective by establishing CICA fund.
“Asia plays a very crucial role in the global affairs”, he asserted, expressing the hope that it gets stronger and more harmonic. Its peace ideas and creativity serve global security and hence global development, Sarybay reassured. He touched upon Egypt’s great efforts in the development agenda, referring to the overall reforms he saw and the amazing time he spent recently in Egypt.
