Dr. Ayman Mahmoud said that Space Imaging is a crucial part of the sustainable development plan
Dr. Ayman Mahmoud, Head of Space Imaging Team and Board Member of the Egyptian Space Agency, said that Space Imaging is a crucial part of the sustainable development plan.
Dr. Mahmoud mentioned, during an interview with (Nile Cruise) program, that Space Imaging are images taken by satellites and they help in solving crises and saving lives.
He pointed out that during the Suez Canal ship crisis, Space Imaging helped in studying the position of the ship and how to handle the crisis.
Further, he said that Space Imaging provides maps for assisting planners, helps in detecting the spots of minerals, monitors pipelines and oil spills and helps in agricultural development.
He declared that Space Imaging helps in monitoring borders and thus detecting any infiltration.
Finally, Dr Mahmoud stressed that Space Imaging can save lives through predicting the upcoming disasters as floods and thus lessens its destructive effects through taking the needed precautions.
