Tourism expert Dr. Yehia Roshdy evaluated the state’s efforts to resume Russian flights to Egypt as a hard long process. It is an initiative from President Abdel Fattah e-Sisi and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to revive the flights to Hurghada and combat the corona virus via taking all precautions.
Over the phone to (Cairo Local Time), he praised the government’s efforts to upgrade the criteria of resorts, hotels, transportation systems and International terminals.
He explained that there are different types of tourists in Sinai and the ministry has created lots of activists to meet various tastes. Moreover, there are two big museums, one in Sharm el Sheikh and the other in Hurghada.
Dr. Roshdy also mentioned the museums in Cairo, Luxor and in Aswan. He commented on the decision of the Minister of Tourism: setting a minimum price for the 4 and 5-star hotels rooms in order to raise the quality of tourism services in the Red Sea, assuring that it is a very wise approach to maintain quality standards.
He also hailed the precautionary measures taken by the Minister of Health as she vaccinated the staff and immunised the places in Sinai.
He called for promoting religious tourism to Egypt by promoting the skills and talents and languages of our tour guides to attract new markets, and also to develop more niche markets which will create more attraction and make it accessible. On the other hand, we have to revive and retrieve marine cruises through the Mediterranean and the Nile, not to mention the inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum next October, he highlighted.
Thus Egypt can achieve the integration of beach tourism with cultural tourism, the expert concluded.
