Deena Yunis took us on a fast trip through the history of the old Alexandria city
Highlighting the unique design of the old Alexandria, Deena Yunis took us on a fast trip through the history of the old Alexandria city.
In a new segment of (Breakfast Show), Yunis said that Dinocrates, the Greek architect designed the city of Alexandria to include vertical streets stretching from east to west intersected by horizontal streets from north to south.
She elucidated that there was an island called Faros which Alexander the Great ordered to be linked to the beach by a bridge.
She added that there were also two ports one of which was a fisherman port and the other was the port of returning safe which was very important during the Roman period.
Moreover, she underlined that the importance of the eastern port of Alexandria was lessened due to the grand blocks of stones thrown into it during the middle ages to protect Egypt from the crusaders.
(Breakfast Show) is aired on Saturday, presented by Deena Yunis, and directed by Mostafa El Dahshan.
