Dr. Hassan Wageih, Professor of Political Science, Al-Azhar University said that Egypt is a hub for interfaith dialogue and a guardian of tolerance and coexistence.
Dr. Wageih mentioned, during a phone conversation with (Arab Affairs) program, that the Minister of Endowment Mokhtar Gomaa inaugurated the 31st International Conference of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs which is held under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah e-Sisi.
He added that about 150 participants from 40 countries are attending the two-day conference which tackles mainly the principles of religious discourse.
He pointed out that the conference highlights the role of media, education and the family in building the personality.
He declared that our world is facing an unprecedented outbreak of violence, struggles and conflicts that need a moderate inter-cultural diplomacy to solve them.
He finally stressed the importance of spreading the proper rules of religion and its true essence and finding shared values with fellow humans to live peacefully on earth.
