Mr. Ihab Kamel, historian and Egyptologist said that the sun lightens the face of King Ramses the second twice a year in Abu Simbel.

He mentioned that the phenomenon happens not only in Abu Simbel temple but also in Karnak temple.

Over the phone with (Breakfast Show), he shed light on the great phenomenon that happens to commemorate King Ramses’ coronation and birth. He mentioned that this phenomenon shows how the ancient Egyptians were so keen on learning astronomy because it is related to their activities such as agriculture.

Mr. Kamel pointed out that the ancient Egyptians gave a great deal of care to science and knowledge.

He highlighted the greatness of King Ramses the second, saying that he was not like any other pharaoh. He added that Ramses II has unprecedented monumental achievements in ancient Egyptian history.

He clarified that there are many temples in Nubia that belong to Ramses the second.

Finally, Mr. Kamel said that to build this great place in Nubia shows that during this period the ancient Egyptian had a very advanced logistic system to be able to create this gigantic temple.
