Olling: Egypt, Denmark enjoy concerted approach to partnership

Svend Olling, Ambassador of Denmark to Egypt asserted the long-standing bilateral ties and common bond with the Scandinavian countries

Svend Olling, Ambassador of Denmark to Egypt asserted the long-standing bilateral ties and common bond with the Scandinavian countries.

He hailed the mega projects and development tracks made at all levels in Egypt over the past 4 years.  He illustrated in that regard that Denmark contributed to bringing technology and investors to Egypt, and highlighted that there are more efforts to be made in the horizon even amid the COVID-19 to sustain Egypt’s projects.

On the sidelines of a meeting convened between the two countries to promote cooperation in the ICT sector, he underlined the importance of state-of –the-art technology in the light of new Egyptian cities launched under the directives of President Abdel Fattah e-Sisi. He lauded the world’s largest sustainable Transition private capital fund Egypt hosted recently for boosting investment opportunities.

He reassured similar approaches between Denmark and Egypt; the size of their economies is almost the same and their civilizations are the oldest in the region. Both pledged to fight climate change and migration, he added. As a tourist trap, Egypt is fantastic with its “bustling wonderful” Cairo and all its sightseeing resorts on the Mediterranean and the Red Sea, he reassured.

Shedding light on partnership aspects, he referred to the maritime affairs as Denmark has the world’s largest container ship line, Maersk, which crosses Suez Canal and positively affects its revenues. He also mentioned that such the Danish company partners with Egypt in the Canal’s container terminal rendering it economically competitive.

It is notable that the meeting held between Ambassador Svend Olling and Head of Trade Council in Egypt, Dr Hanzada Farid, with the Egyptian Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Dr Amr Talaat, discussing mutual cooperation between the two countries in the field of digitalization and means of strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.

(Exclusive With Taghreed Hussein) is aired on Nile TV International and conducted by the president of the channel.
