Highlighting the history of one of Egypt’s magnificent monumental places located in Alexandria, Deena Yunis shed light on the dry basin that was built after the fortress of El Dekheila had been built.
On a new segment of the (Breakfast Show), Yunis clarified that after Mohammad Ali ruled Egypt, he renewed the dry basin between 1869 and 1873.
She said that Kedev Ismail supplied the dry basin with two cannons of Armstrong type.
Moreover, she added that during the British occupation of Egypt, the gunpowder warehouse of El Dekheila fortress was hit, accordingly the two cannons fell down and since then they still lie on their original location.
Explaining the greatness of this monumental place, Deena said that the dry basin is a white space in the sea and surrounded by a strong building built of strong materials.
