Critic Andro Mohsen said that late scriptwriter Wahid Hamed used to write about the marginalized and poor people
Critic Andro Mohsen said that late scriptwriter Wahid Hamed used to write about the marginalized and poor people and turn them into real characters as the audience had seen in many of his films.
Over the phone to (Cairo Local Time), he mentioned some of Hamed’s significant works that he produced and wrote scripts as well. He had a specific way of portraying current events and certain kinds of people, social statuses and particular situations. What made his work so successful and unique, he reassured, is that he drew from characters he saw from society.
Mohsen added that Hamed had collaborated with many Egyptian artists from different generations over a long period of time. Two of his films were picked for the acclaimed list of the best 100 Egyptian movies in the 20th century which are ”Playing with giants” and “The Innocent”.
(Cairo Local Time) is aired from Sunday to Thursday. This episode is presented by Engy Maher.
