Ambassador Gamal Bayoumi, Former Assistant Foreign Minister said that the Arab World is facing unprecedented challenges on the social, human, economic and political levels that need unity and collaboration between all Arab countries.

Amb. Bayoumi mentioned, during a phone conversation with (Arab Affairs) program, that the Arab Parliament convened in Cairo to discuss different files, mainly the dangers surrounding the Arab World due to foreign interference and internal divisions especially in Syria, Libya, Yemen and Lebanon.

He declared that the meeting was attended by Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Egyptian House of Representative Speaker Ali Abdel Aal, Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Adel Abdel Rahman Al-Asoumi.

He said that the Arab Parliament signed a protocol with the Egyptian Senate to launch the Centre for Arab Parliamentary Diplomacy.

Bayoumi pointed out that the Arab Parliament is the voice of the Arabs and parliamentarians can market our policies and interests abroad through their good relations with their counterparts around the world.

He stressed that unity is the best way to avoid 

foreign interference in Arab policies, adding that the Arab League and the Arab Parliament’s role must be activated to achieve the best interests of all Arabs.

Finally, he praised the role of Former Arab League Secretary-General Amr Moussa, who is honoured during the meeting, for bringing many reforms in the Arab League especially in the voting system.
