Dr. Ahmed Aziz President of Sohag University, said that Egyptian-German cooperation in vocational training is one of the important current issues. Sohag University has the lead in this field aiming at connecting graduate students with the market needs, he highlighted.
On his phone call with Nile TV International, he assured that Sohag University is playing a great role in the field of vocational education as it opened a number of training centers in the university and trained many youth through programs and workshops.
He said that Upper Egypt took the lion’s share of the industrial development in various fields because 30% of the population lives there. Setting up industrial projects in the Upper Egyptian governorates helps increase many jobs for the youth, he added.
Dr. Aziz stated that the president pays special attention to Upper Egypt through preparing of youth to the labour market, cooperating with Germany, improving education and the approach of giving students the most advanced training on modern technology, and introducing the latest technological application in education.
He added that one of Egypt’s greatest projects is Benban Solar Project which is the biggest in the world, located in Aswan. The $3.5 billion project has a total capacity of 1.8 gigawatts. Its purpose is to contribute to Egypt’s energy self-sufficiency.
Elaborating, he said that Upper Egypt has more than 50 industrial zones compiling 3000 factories and new urban communities to improve the quality of life of the people.
His insight came within Nile TV’s panorama of presidential coverage on the President’s ongoing state visit in the German capital Berlin to participate in the high-level dialogue of G20 Compact with Africa (CwA). The interview was conducted by Head of Nile TV International Taghreed Hussein.
