Wakid El-Batouty, Former Advisor to the Minister of Tourism, said that King Tutankhamun treasures displayed in France has attracted more than 1.3 million visitors, breaking 50-year-old record held by previous Tut exhibitions.
El Batouty mentioned, during a phone call with (Money Means Business) programme, that the exhibition that started from March till the end in the 22nd of September will have a positive impact on the Egyptian tourism.
Moreover, he added that the exhibition that extended for five months has attracted visitors, not only from France, but from many European countries, which proves the French and Europeans fascination by the Egyptian history.
He pointed that the exhibition is an important promotion for the Grand Egyptian Museum, in which King Tutankhamun treasures will be displayed after the tour.
He finally stressed the importance of attracting tourists to Egypt, not only through publicizing its monuments, but also through highlighting the beauty of its natural environments as beaches and deserts.
