Bakr:Egypt maintains to continue legacy of late Khalifa

Professor of political science Dr. Noha Bakr condoled the Emirati people for the loss of the late leader Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed and stressed her full faith that there will be a continuation for his legacy. She praised the United Arab Emirates for the smooth transition of one leader to the other as Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed has been appointed as the new president, which reflects the continuation of the strategy of the country in its internal and foreign policy.

Over the phone to (Cairo Local Time), she added that the late honorable leader will always be cherished for his good work since 2004. He was the chairman of the Supreme Petroleum Council since 1980 and he had a very important role in rescuing Dubai when it suffered from economic crisis to the extent that the iconic tower Borg Khalifa was named after him. Not to mention his role on the bilateral and multilateral level with neighboring countries and the regional and international arena, she said, indicating he was known for his wisdom and calculation of risks.

Dr. Bakr stated that President Abdel Fattah e-Sisi had been to Abu Dhabi to offer his condolences and had mourned Sheikh Khalifa saying that he sincerely loved Egypt and was a loyal friend through all the difficult circumstances that Egypt went through. Sisi’s words reflect not only the leadership feelings, gratitude and respect but also the feelings of all Egyptians, she reassured.

She mentioned the speed of the newly appointed president Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed which shows the unity, security and stability of the country. He will face the same challenges his predecessor had undergone such as the war in Yemen, the new global conditions, the post pandemic circumstances, etc.

She is confident that Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed will complete the growth of the federation of the seven emirates and continue its unity, the smooth rotation of power and the respect of the system. Concluding his point, she reaffirmed that Egypt will continue to support the UAE as it is a mutual support in foreign policy and the security of the gulf.
