Economic expert Dr. Diaa Helmy underscored that the Egyptian Economic Conference 2022 running from 23 - 25 October in the New Administrative Capital is of paramount importance as it conveys a message to the world that the country is secure and it has lots of investment opportunities as the president himself encourages and supports the private sector for 2030.
Over the phone to (Cairo Local Time), he said that the world is facing a lot of challenges and Egypt is part of the world, thus the conference aims to draw up an economic roadmap for Egypt in the coming period that would increase the resilience of the national economy and its competitiveness.
Shedding light on the significance of the opening session of the conference, he stressed that President Abdel Fattah e-Sisi attended it and witnessed the start of the activities organized by the government. The conference’s agenda will focus on three main tracks; namely the macro-economic policies, empowering the private sector and the future plan for top priority sectors, he stated.
He assured that the state is doing fine despite the crises around us such as the high price of raw materials, the Covid-19 era and the Russian-Ukrainian war. Yet the president offers a secure atmosphere to the investors and private sector, he illustrated, because the Egyptian economy is strong and flexible enough due to the increasing revenues of Suez Canal, the rising of the tourism sector and much more.
The conference is pivotal in facing our problems and finding solutions to them at the same time, the expert reassured, believing that starting from 2024 Egypt will gain the results of the rising economy as the government together with the private sector work to achieve the plan of development.
Hailing its importance, he noted that the conference witnesses the launch of a number of incentives in the industrial sector, makes a future road map for the top priority sectors in the government program in Egypt, plays as a bridge between Egypt and the foreign organizations, paves way to benefit from the experience and expertise of the economists in facing the challenges, and helps boost all sectors of the domestic economy.
Concluding, he pointed to the significance of holding the conference in the New Administrative Capital as the president has always encouraged the building of several new cities. It is a message to Egyptians and to the foreign countries that we are working towards the future and the New Republic symbolized by the New Capital, he reaffirmed.
