Expert lauds Sisi’s inauguration of Adly Mansour station

Shedding light on the inauguration of Adly Mansour Central Station, expert of highways Dr. Mohamed Sadek Ouf hailed the largest such interchange station in the Middle East. The inauguration of the metro complex by President Abdel Fattah e-Sisi is a great achievement, he highlighted, as it covers an area of 15 feddans and is the first line of the Light Rail Train LRT that includes five modes of transportation

Over the phone to (Cairo Local Time), he added Sisi launched the LRT electric train, along with the Al-Salam, 10th of Ramadan, and New Administrative Capital (NAC) line. The maximum capacity of the train is expected to be about 1m passengers per day. The first stage of the LRT comprises 12 stations, including Adly Mansour, Badr City, the Culture and Arts City in the NAC, and New Obour.

Cairo Underground Metro’s Third Line starts from Adly Mansour Interchange Station, encompassing Rod El-Farag Axis in the north and Cairo University in the south with a total length of 41-42 kilometres, including 34 stations to commute 1.5 million passengers, he further added.

He pointed out that the ticket pricing will start from 15 L.E. for three stations up to 35 L.E. for the total line. A unified ticket will be issued for all means of transportations at Adly Mansour interchange station.

Dr. Ouf stressed the fact that the project was established by Egyptian companies. It runs by electricity instead of diesel and includes seats allocated to people with special needs, he added. All LRT stations are configured to facilitate access and movements for people with all sorts of disabilities, he reassured.

He mentioned that the president has also given directives to start the experimental operation of the Safaa Hegazy Metro Station on the third line in Zamalek district.

He concluded that the development on the road network has had a positive impact on the economy and investment in the last few years as it is affected by the developed infrastructure.
