Ambassador Gamal Bayoumi, Former Assistant Foreign Minister, said that choosing Egypt as a guest country at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, reflects its success in achieving development and progress.
Amb. Bayoumi mentioned, during an interview with (Arab Affairs) program, that President Abdel-Fattah e-Sisi delivered a speech via video conference at the forum, in which he reiterated Egypt's efforts to face the recent global food shortage that affected the whole world after the Russian–Ukranian war.
He added that Egypt succeeded in expanding agricultural lands and increasing food supplies through implementing new projects .
He stressed the importance of global collaboration to face this challenge, by finding effective solutions to the food crisis and providing grains to the affected countries especially in Africa.
He pointed out that Egypt's diplomacy is highly respected in Europe, Russia, China and all over the world. Egypt's Foreign policy is effective as a regional power in Africa, the Arab World and the Middle East.
He finally lauded the efforts of President Abdel Fattah e-Sisi and the government in succeeding to face the current global food crisis as well as the previous pandemic crisis, during which Egypt was one of the few countries in the world to enjoy an increase in the growth rate.
