Ahead of the sixth edition of “Egypt Can” conference entitled “Egypt Can with Industry” due on March 27-28 under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah e-Sisi, Dr. Youssef Mazhar, Former Deputy Head of the Minister of Industry, said that Egypt is covering now a large number of conferences of many items all over the world with a huge agenda.
In a phone call with (Africa Today), Mazhar said that the slogan adopted now in Egypt is to work and progress according to our scheduled plans of development despite all the global incidents. This successful motto was illustrated clearly last year during the pandemic where we managed to keep up the country’s development plans in a very stable way, he asserted.
In the industrial field, the public sector and the private sector are following their business plans carefully, he mentioned, stressing that not a single moment is neglected concerning the country’s plan of action especially in the industrial sector so as to fulfill the needs of the country and the exports as well.
Egypt is opening up industries to substitute what it used to import; he said believing that there will be no hiccups in the local industry. “It is a very good policy and it is working very effectively,” he said. However, he stated that the traditional industries are facing hurdles in Egypt which he assumed should not be neglected; such as the textile industry or any other craft that obtains its raw material from our homeland.
Finally, Mazhar pinpointed to the change Egypt witnessed, from a planned-planned economy to a freer productive one referring to the private sector and how it is indulged in the governmental projects with an enormous share.
It is notable to mention that "Egypt Can" is a series of conferences hosting Egyptian expats specialized in the themes of different editions.
