Dr Halim hails Sisi's enlightened policy on local, regional fronts

Dr. Ahmed Abdel Halim, a Professor of Political Science at Zagazig University, said that the attention being paid for the educational sector in Egypt is great

Dr. Ahmed Abdel Halim, a Professor of Political Science at Zagazig University, said that the attention being paid for the educational sector in Egypt is great, believing that President Abdel Fattah e-Sisi’s visit to Kafr el Sheikh University underlines his deep interest towards achieving advanced educational systems coping with the international standards.

He stressed, in an interview with (The Daily Debate), that the graduate students should be equipped with all the experiences and tools necessary for the job market preparing them to deal with the international arena. Kafr el-Sheikh University has its stance as one of many distinguished ones within Egypt with a great deal of technological details, higher educational systems, and distinguished professors, he said, adding that Egypt aimed at managing new technological systems by turning to digitalization and using artificial intelligence in every aspect of its daily life.

In the light of the regional challenges, Abdel Halim believed that Egypt leads the Arab and Middle East region to peace and stability by having a role in solving the Palestinian issue. For a long period of time,he mentioned, Egypt helped the Palestinian cause financially, medically, culturally, and strategically, referring to the attempts made to reconcile the fussing groups and to help in reconstructing Gaza Strip.

Moreover, he assumed that with the coming of the Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett the two-state solution would be revitalized, hoping that a new successful phase of peaceful talks will be inaugurated soon.

The political analyst noted that the Libyan file is a complicated one, wishing that the crucial presidential and parliamentary elections scheduled with the first round on 24th December 2021 will be held in its time. Egypt, he noted, has done a lot of mediation efforts to bring together the Libyan factions. This is in addition to the calls for the mercenaries, militias, and foreign forces to withdraw from the country, he added.

As for the Syrian file, he believed that having a sustainable, safe, and stable Syria is unlikely in the meantime with the involvement of all the international players. “The struggle is always there,” he said with America on the top of the scale, the Russian army and the Turkish interference to prevent the establishment of the Kurdish state. Thus, he argued that the three tussling groups have a hand of superiority and a sense of supremacy on large portions of the Syrian territorial lands.

He also noted that Egypt is lending a humanitarian helping hand to brotherly countries; such as Lebanon, pointing to the country’s announcement that it is ready to export natural gas to Lebanon by the first quarter of 2022.
