Dr. Sayed Nasr, Climate Change Expert, said that the Cairo Water Week is an important platform for exchanging ideas and experiences on the best way to manage water resources.
Dr. Nasr mentioned, during a phone conversation with the daily program (Breakfast Show), that the increase in the population and the climate changes are the main challenges facing water resources.
He stressed the importance of using modern techniques and scientific research to maximize the benefits of the available water.
Moreover, he added that the government has prepared a strategic plan to manage water resources until 2037 that depends on implementing many national projects in the water sector.
He pointed to the necessity of rationalizing the use of water, recycling it, preventing water pollution as well as using smart technologies in irrigation.
He finally declared the importance of avoiding water conflicts and solving them through dialogue.
