Anniversary of Prophet Muhammad’s birth disseminates messages

Researcher at Al Azhar Observatory For Combating Extremism Mariam Abdel Gawad said that the speech of President Abdel Fattah e-Sisi on the occasion of the Prophet

Researcher at Al Azhar Observatory For Combating Extremism Mariam Abdel Gawad said that the speech of President Abdel Fattah e-Sisi on the occasion of the Prophet Muhammad's Birth shows his great respect to Al Azhar Al Sharif as it expressed his firm confidence in the great foundation as the official religious institution in Egypt, asserting that Al Azhar scholars are highly qualified to transfer the right message of Islam; the message of moderation and of peace.

Over the phone to (Cairo Local Time), she added that the President’s speech implied that we need to firmly adhere to the middle course of Islam and to be characterized with tolerance, mercy and love to the others following our role model Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

She affirmed that building religious awareness is the cooperative mission that needs the collaboration of all categories of the society, not only the religious scholars. Al Azhar Institution has always been spreading the message of tolerance, coexistence and peace raised by the Prophet among people of different races, religions and cultures, she added.

Abdel Gawad stated that The Grand Imam of Al Azhar Dr. Ahmad El Tayyeb has signed with Pope Frances of Rome the Document on Human Fraternity For World Peace and Living Together.

In the same context, she continued that Al Azhar has established long before the Egyptian Family House in cooperation with the Orthodox Egyptian Church. It aims at fostering religious unity and is specialized in spreading the message of tolerance and solving any form of difference among people of different religions, Gawad highlighted. This institution is headed by the Grand Imam for six months and by Pope Tawadros for the other six months alternatively, which has a significant impact on the society, she elaborated.

She referred to the Grand Imam when he talked about the prophet’s morals and ethics, saying that he was never tough-hearted or ill-mannered whether verbally or physically; his voice was always low, he never talked with high voice anywhere, he never responded to bad behavior with another bad one, he had never beaten any person, he was generous, decent and merciful, thus he became the role model of coexistence, tolerance and preserving the human rights.

She called for teaching our children the morals and ethics of the prophet, his moderation and peaceful manners to follow these values and teachings so that we could get over any crisis.

(Cairo Local Time) is aired from Saturday to Thursday. This episode is presented by Amal Mokhtar.
