Ambassador Hussein Hareidi, Former Assistant Foreign Minister, said that President Abdel Fattah e-Sisi's visit to Budapest to participate in the Visegrad Group summit indicates that Egypt is considered by the European countries as a fundamental ally.
Amb. Hareidi mentioned, during a phone conversation with the daily program (Breakfast Show) that the Visegrad Group summit includes Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland.
He added that Egypt is the first Middle East State to be invited to participate in a Visegrad Group summit which highlights the European countries keenness to develop ties with Egypt.
He pointed out that the group appreciates the role that Egypt plays in the Middle East and Africa especially in combating terrorism and preventing illegal immigration.
He added that President Sisi met with his Hungarian counterpart Janos Ader, and they discussed means of enhancing trade and investments between both countries.
Finally, he declared that different agreements were signed by both countries to cooperate in the fields of energy, transports and water resources.
