Youssef: National Human Rights Strategy for citizens' prosperity

Hailing the launch of the 1st Egyptian Strategy for Human Rights launched recently by President Abdel Fattah e-Sisi, Researcher in Al-Azhar International Observatory Dr. Osama Youssef said that all the heavenly messages call upon and urge people to respect human rights and enjoy tolerance, peace, equality, citizenship and oppose violence and extremism.

Over the phone to (Breakfast Show), he elaborated that President Sisi talked about renewing religious discourse and explained  that Islam respects freedoms, the freedom of everything : of speech, of religion, etc. We believe that there is no compulsion in religion, he added.

Dr. Youssef clarified that we will not destroy our heritage, as Al-Azhar mentioned beforehand, but rather renew from our basics; you choose what you want and Allah only will ask you about your choice.

He also shed light on the tangible rights gained by women, children and the elderly. Islam has ethics for the whole world and for all categories, he asserted, stressing the fact that Islam insists on freedom of speech and highlighted the motto “No compulsion in religion” and as President Sisi said that we accept differences since those who are different with us do not impose their vision on us.

Supporting his point, he concluded that Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) has said that when one talks to people, talk with wisdom and nice talking.
