Gaafar:Egypt's peacekeeping missions bring stability to Africa

Political Analyst Ra'ouf Gaafar said that Egypt is keen on participating in UN's peacekeeping missions in Africa

Political Analyst Ra'ouf Gaafar said that Egypt is keen on participating in UN's peacekeeping missions in Africa to bring peace and stability to the continent.

Gaafar mentioned, during an interview with (Africa Today) program, that Egypt is participating in six UN peacekeeping missions in Africa, comprising over 3,000 Egyptian army and police personnel. 

He added that the missions help in preventing conflicts, sustaining peace and in protecting civilians. 

He pointed out that the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic represents an additional burden on peacekeeping missions through working in difficult circumstances to help in transferring humanitarian aid.

He finally lauded Egypt's great role in the development of Africa and the high professionalism of Egyptian peacekeeping missions that also include many women.
