Researcher and historian Ahmed Nour El Din hailed the unprecedented memorable event Egypt hosts and the world awaits for transferring 22 royal mummies, encompassing 18 of kings and 4 of queens, on April 3 from the Egyptian Museum at Tahrir Square to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC) in Fustat towards eternity.
As one of the most lavish processions in history of Egypt and for the whole world, Pharaohs’ Golden Parade which roams the streets of Cairo delivers a message of paramount importance, he said during an interview on (Breakfast), reassuring that Egypt is safe and working on reviving and highlighting its golden ancient era.
Illustrating, he added that the mummies encompass the most prominent royal figures dating back to the 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th dynasties; Amenhotep II & III, Queen Hatshepsut, Ramses II, III & VI, Siptah, Mereneptah, and the most important one of King Sakann Ra’a who is the first king to start fighting with the Hexus, to mention a few.
The historian paid tribute to the ministry of antiquities and its strenuous efforts to make such a distinguished mummification in a secret way which requires special skills and tools to preserve such mummies and then to display them intact for public concern.
Within the framework of the state agenda on constructing new museums in addition to the Grand Egyptian Museum, he said that Tahrir museum keeps 100,000 pieces of monumental statues and so they have to be distributed to the other new museums.
