Scholar highlights religious freedom in Islam

Lecturer at Al-Azhar University, said that Islam supports the religious freedom of every individual,and his right to believe in what he wants

Hossam Ed Deen Allam, Lecturer at Al-Azhar University, said that Islam supports the religious freedom of every individual, and his right to believe in what he wants.

Allam mentioned, during a new episode of (The Revelation) program that the words of the Quran and the Hadith contain rich proofs for supporting religious freedom.

He declared that in Surah Al Baqara verse 256 Allah said "There is no compulsion in religion. The Right Way stands clearly distinguished from the wrong."

Moreover, he pointed the fact that Islam maintains the honor, dignity and respect of each and every human being irrespective of his religion, ethnicity or nationality.

He added that it is important to maintain the safety and security of places of worship of all religions and it is prohibited to insult the deities of other religions .

He finally stressed the importance of practicing religion without fear or interference from others.
