Amb Abdel Latif:Aswan heeds Sisi’s call for sustainability

Ambassador Ahmed Abdel Latif, Executive Director of the Aswan Forum asserted the state’s main concern to maintain security and stability in Africa

Ambassador Ahmed Abdel Latif, Executive Director of the Aswan Forum asserted the state’s main concern to maintain security and stability in Africa amid and after the daunting challenges due to the global pandemic COVID-19. He stressed President Abdel Fattah e-Sisi’s emphasis on means of intensifying ties with African countries and reassured many visible prospects are on the horizon.

On the sidelines of the 2nd edition of Aswan forum, he reiterated during an exclusive interview with Nile TV that such a gathering comes to embody all means of cooperation on the ground to advance the African agenda.  He highlighted that many vital issues have been discussed by international experts and figures in that edition such as terrorism, interface between migration and security and development, and climate change, to mention a few.

For his part, Abdel Latif hailed all African heads of state for sharing impressive directives towards progress in face of diverse conflicts hindering the continent to move forward.

Commenting on the 2nd edition as complementary to the first one held in 2019, he elaborated that how far they focus on leaping the continent into a new era of prosperity and peace and advancing the recovery processes from Corona via “holistic solutions and comprehensive approaches” in order to achieve sustainable development, peace and security.
