Ambassador Gamal Bayoumi , Former Assistant Foreign Minister, said that Egypt is keen on achieving unity and stability in Libya for the wellbeing of the Libyan people and the interests of the whole territory.
Amb. Bayoumi mentioned, during a phone conversation with (Arab Affairs) program, that Libya and Sudan come in the first circle of the Egyptian foreign relations interest.
He added that President Abdel Fattah e-Sisi expressed Egypt’s support for the new interim government in Libya during a meeting Libyan Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibeh in Cairo.
He pointed out that Egypt’s constant diplomacy helped together with European Union and other countries to put Libya on the right track after electing a new Presidential Council and a new government.
He finally stressed that Egypt will continue its efforts to end division and bloodshed in Libya and prepare the country for construction and development.
