Expert: Prominent historic events boosting “Winter in Egypt”

Tourism expert Ehab Kamel acknowledged the fact that Egypt is one of the unique winter destinations worldwide. Bad weather is hitting the whole world so the initiative “Winter in Egypt” is a very intelligent one, he underlined.

Over the phone to (Breakfast Show), he called for vaccinating all who work in the tourism sector which will make a great difference worldwide, especially that there are lots of demands on Egypt at the moment. All indications show that once the pandemic is over Egypt will witness a touristic boom and we have to be prepared.

He confirmed that some released statistics say that between July and December, Egypt will receive 1.4 million tourists, and though the number is not big, yet it shows that lots of people are interested in travelling to our country even in the present situation of COVID-19.

The tourism expert underscored the role of social media, one of the marketing tools propagating for tourism, emphasizing that it is a very powerful and effective tool.

Kamel asserted that the Handball Cup is a touristic event as well as an important sports event. We are working on the mental image, you push people to look at Egypt; it is the best way of publicity and a free effective campaign, he added.

He evaluated the renovating of the museums and historic sites because this is our Egyptian brand and working on this brand makes us unique as no country has such a rich heritage. Stressing his point, he elucidated that tourism is now involved in public services so tourists enjoy a decent standard of services which impacts our tourism industry.

He also hailed the Grand Egyptian Museum, which will be inaugurated in a few months, as a leap in Egypt. It is our brand like The Louvre in France and the Hermitage in Russia. On his part, he admitted that this should be accompanied by a world class event and this event can be sold and marketed for as the elite and world-class visitors will attend the inauguration.
