Ambassador Ali El-Hefney, Former Assistant Foreign Minister, said that the international and regional developments pave the way to resuming Middle East peace negotiations.
Amb Hefney mentioned, during an interview with (Arab Affairs) program, that the main development is the change in the U.S. administration and electing President Joe Biden, which can give a new drive to the stalemate in the negotiations.
He added that the new ties between Israel and Emirates is another drive for reviving the talks.
He pointed out that the announcement of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas of the coming election in the Palestinian territories also raises the hope of starting the negotiations.
Further, Hefney stressed that Egypt has the political will to re-establish order and recover stability not only in Palestine but also in Libya and all the Arab World.
He finally said that President Abdel Fattah e-Sisi hosted the foreign ministers of France, Germany and Jordan who are keen to work with Egypt to break the deadlock in the Middle East Peace Process.
