President Assoumi seeks for Joint Arab Action in 2021

President of the Arab Parliament Adel Bin Abdel-Rahman Al-Assoumi attached paramount importance to the long-sought joint Arab action through one clear vision to strengthen Arab solidarity in the face of any foreign conspiracy, and that what he asserted regarding his objective since he took office as the president of the Arab Parliament. He reassured that Egypt’s staunch support to its neighbors due to directives of its “unique” leadership of President Abdel Fattah e-Sisi is great, referring to its stance with Libya in the aftermath of the Turkish violations to its sovereignty.           

Endeavoring an actual Arab parliament in its new form, he underlined during an interview on (Exclusive with Taghreed Hussein) the most significant initiatives launched in 2020 such as the Parliamentary Diplomatic Center which boosted diplomatic communication at meetings of the parliaments, and the Digital Economy Forum which exhorted the Arab countries to engage in taking Arab stories of success in that aspect role models to follow suit.

In the same context, Al-Assoumi also shed light on the Joint Committee to Combat Terrorism as a vital initiative to eradicate extremist ideology and support the countries actually suffering from hostilities which are discredited by the forces of evil and even put among supporters of terrorism. Al-Assoumi hence stressed the Arabs’ respect of the human rights and the parliament’s keenness on achieving justice and combating terrorism. 

Reaching this point, he said he was perturbed by the European parliament’s flagrant interference in the internal affairs of Egypt, the country of law and independent institutions. He reiterated that all Arabs support Sisi and his inspiring agenda for comprehensive reform and for women empowerment at all levels, citing an excellent example, in the region, of Ms Fawzia Zinal who assumed the presidency of Bahraini parliament has been proving competence since 2018.

Commenting on his statement saying “Egypt represents an important Arab weight”, he reaffirmed his belief that strong Egypt means a strong Arab nation. He hailed President e-Sisi as an “Arab leader” for his unrelenting efforts to achieve progress and promote peace in the region. “The strong is targeted and the weak is not”, he reiterated, asserting that Egypt is able and proving that it beats the odds and maintains its stability and the stability of the whole region.

Further, he extended best wishes for a better future to the whole Arab nation in 2021, aspiring for more breakthroughs among its peoples in order to overcome their challenging conditions. Highlighting efforts at the threshold of the New Year, he declared that the Arab

Parliament launched the Arab Dialogue Forum to send a message to the whole world that the Arab

nation is able to solve its problems and its joint action will be the basis of any Arab interaction.
