Bayoumi highlights Egypt’s efforts to revive ME peace negotiations

Ambassador Gamal Bayoumi, Former Assistant Foreign Minister, said that the Palestinian Cause is one of the first priorities of the Egyptian diplomacy.

Amb. Bayoumi mentioned, during a phone conversation with (Arab Affairs) program ,that Egypt is keen to revive the peace negotiations between the Palestinians and the Israelis to end the stalemate between both sides since 2014.

He pointed out that the quadripartite meeting in Cairo between Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukri and his Jordanian, French and German counterparts is the first step to stimulate peace efforts.

He stressed that the United States is a pivotal partner in the ME peace process, it will usually participate in the negotiations to find a settlement to the cause even for the interest of its ally, Israel’s security.

He finally hoped that the Palestinian factions unite as one front and end their differences which are the main hindrance that slows down the progress in negotiations.
