Hossam Ed-Deen Allam, Lecturer Al Azhar University, said that Islam stresses the importance of making a balance between Deen (Religion) and worship from one side and Dunya (Life) from another side.
Allam mentioned, in a new episode of (The Revelation) program, that Holy Prophet Mohammad in his life was a living example portraying such a balance.
He recalled a story that happened during the Prophet’s life, when three companions of the Prophet were informed about his worship and they considered it insufficient, they believed that was because all the Prophet’s sins were already forgiven.
He pointed out that one of those companions said that he will pray all night forever, the other said he will fast everyday, and the third said he will never marry.
The scholar finally added that when the Prophet heard them, he told them that he is more submissive to Allah than them, yet he prays at night and also sleeps, he fasts some days and breaks his fast in other days, and he marries, so who does not follow his tradition, is not from his followers.
