Islamic Researcher highlights story of Al-Kaaba

Saeed Kishk, Islamic  Researcher, Al-Azhar Mosque, said that The House of God (Al-Kaaba), was the first house built to worship God on earth.

 Saeed Kishk, Islamic  Researcher, Al-Azhar Mosque, said that The House of God (Al-Kaaba), was the first house built to worship God on earth.

Kishk mentioned, in a new episode of (The Revelation) programme, that Al –Kaaba has a great significance in Islam as mentioned in Surat Ali 'Imran [verse 96] .Indeed, the first House [of worship] established for mankind was that at Makkah - blessed and a guidance for the worlds.

He pointed that there are different narrations about who built the Kaaba, some scholars say Angels built it before Adam’s creation. 

Further, he said that other scholars said that Noah built it after the Flood, but the majority of scholars said that Adam built it to be the first House of God on earth.

He stated as a proof of this theory, the Hadith in which the Prophet said that the first mosque built on the surface of the earth is Al- Masjid-ul-Haram (in Mecca), then the mosque of Al-Aqsa (in Jerusalem), and the period of construction between the two was Forty years.

Finally, he pointed that Prophet Abraham and Ishmael only raised the pillars of Al-Kaaba later and they were not the first to build it, as mentioned in Surat Al-Baqarah [verse 127 “And [mention] when Abraham was raising the foundations of the House and [with him] Ishmael, [saying], "Our Lord, accept [this] from us. Indeed You are the Hearing, the Knowing.
