Professor at the Academy of Arts Dr. Sahar Helmy Helaly shed light on Opera Aida show which will be performed next October in the Temple of Hatshepsut in Luxor, saying that the event is both cultural and touristic. The magic is when it is performed in the same place where the story is written, which is Egypt temples. All the singers of the world dream to sing in Egypt where the pharaohs had once lived, she highlighted.
In her interview with (Cairo Local Time), she emphasized that the tickets are fully booked because Opera Aida is significant to the whole world as it is an international event. Going back to history, she said that Khedive Ismael had ordered that an opera inspired by the vibes and atmosphere of ancient Egypt is to be written, and so it was written in Italy by Giuseppe Verde in 1871.
As a ballerina, she illustrated that ballet dancing is very special. It is a very elegant art teaching you how to be very professional and very cool, she added. Further, it is also very hard, Helaly continued, as they have to practice every day and it teaches discipline, obedience, studying hard and body language.
She urged parents to encourage their children if they have the talent and the passion to join the Academy of Art.
(Cairo Local Time) is aired from Saturday to Thursday. This episode is presented by Yasmeen Bakir.
