Tourism Expert said that the reopening of the Avenue of Sphinxes emphasizes that the Pharaohs' grandchildren are working hard to revive their ancestors' glory
Tourism Expert Yomn Salama said that the historic reopening of the Avenue of Sphinxes emphasizes that the Pharaohs' grandchildren are working hard to revive their ancestors' glory and civilization.
Salama mentioned, during a phone conversation with (Arab Affairs) program, that the opening was a successful collaboration between many ministries and institutions.
She lauded President Abdel Fattah e-Sisi's follow-up visit to all the achievements in the tourism sector, praising all the performers and workers that participated in this amazing event.
She added that the Avenue which used to link between the Temples of Karnak and Luxor, is about 2.7 km-long, with Ram-headed statues and traditional sphinxes.
Further, she pointed out that this avenue used to witness the parade of the god Amun during the festival of Opet celebrating the floods and fertility.
She finally stressed that the opening of the avenue connects our past with our present and future, adding that it will help boost tourism during the coming season.
