Dr. Talaat Farouq underlined the significance of the publications of Islamic Research Center in Al Azhar pavilion at Cairo International Book Fair
Professor of Literature and translation at Al Azhar University Dr. Talaat Farouq underlined the significance of the publications of Islamic Research Center in Al Azhar pavilion at Cairo International Book Fair where there are specialists who answer the questions of people and present books from Al Azhar.
Over the phone to (Cairo Local Time), he explained that Al Azhar scholars are working on many levels such as the Fatwa Corner in the 52nd round in Cairo International Book Fair.
He highlighted the role played by Al Azhar on the cultural level in the whole world. They work in 11 languages to show the heritage of Islam and to discuss major concepts of it and introduce them to the world, he elaborated. Other centres of translation, he added, have been working for four years communicating with people of different cultures and languages around the globe to deconstruct ideologies and combat extremism and show the broader vision of Al Azhar about Islam in its moderate approach.
He also evaluated the interaction with the Fatwa Corner in the book fair as a live channel which addresses all categories of people and a great opportunity for Azhar specialists and scholars to communicate with the public on the ground.
He appraised Al Azhar role reacting for more than 1000 years as a lighthouse for information and education stating that it is a referential authority for Islam which represents its true image beyond the grappling of politicization and narrow ideologies of extremism. People always trust Al Azhar for its openness, moderation, tolerance, compassion, etc, he reassured.
He encouraged people to visit the pavilion as it comprises books of various concepts such as moderation, tolerance, acceptance of the other, values of Islam and how it accepts people of different cultures and faith, and the true image of Islam. There are continuous activities, seminars and meetings on numerous issues around the clock, he stated.
