Hossam Allam: Names of Allah significant for Muslims

Sheikh Hossam Ed-Deen Allam, Lecturer Al-Azhar University, said that Muslims should know the significance of the names of Allah.

Sheikh Hossam Ed-Deen Allam, Lecturer Al-Azhar University, said that Muslims should know the significance of the names of Allah to recognize His omnipotence and greatness.

Sheikh Allam mentioned, during an interview with (The Virtues of the 99 names of Allah) program that attributes and qualities of Allah should be also reflected on the character of the Muslim.

He added that among Allah's names is "Ar-Rahman" "The most Merciful" , The One whose perfect mercy and love endlessly embrace all of creation, thus we should also show mercy to all God's creation.

He pointed out that God is also Al-Hakeem (The Most Wise), the One who is correct in all His doings and is free from error, He designed nature in a perfect and accurate way.

He declared that God's name Al-Waasi' (The All-Encompassing) means that He encompasses all His creation with His blessings, care and kindness, there is no limit to His attributes.

He finally said that we should invoke God with His perfect names in our prayers as mentioned in the Quran "And to Allah belong the best names, so invoke Him by them." Surah Al A'raf verse 180.
